Adaptation:
Mona Lisa -> sonnet
The famous paint, Mona Lisa, is now in France.
Mystery in it, everyone feels it.
Attracts people not only to have a glance.
But in front of it, everyone will have a sit.
The old man painted it called Da Vinci.
Mona Lisa looks a bit like him.
Don’t know why it looks scary.
The woman painted was not so slim.
She was smiling and sitting on a chair.
The smile on her face was a bit missish.
Giving a murky atmosphere everywhere.
Her eyebrows and eyelashes were vanished
The background inside was scenery behind.
Nobody knows what is in his mind.

A Great Dance
Running, jumping, stretching on the street
He bows, stands and touches his feet
Shouting, feeling high, there are lots of people
They move, stand back, forming a circle
On the drum, they beat
Following the beat, he dances like an American Idol.
Sonnet (ABBA ABBA CCDEDE)
Short Life Review
Fought in classroom, he looks back.
Skipped lessons, slept in class, he said he was sick.
But after class, he jumped up and was awake.
Clothes changed quickly, long time ago, he ran fast on the track.
During lunch time, with his friends, he went to Mac’.
Going back to classroom, he crossed a lake.
Preparing for the coming lessons, tidying the books, heavy and thick.
Actually, preparing for the school finished, he was to pack.
Now, looking out of the window, it’s gonna rain.
Looking at the cloudy sky, his heart feels pain.
Turning around, sitting on a chair, he makes a sigh.
Time past, that’s what he cares.
But nothing he can do, asking why.
He closes his eyes, relaxing, hands on the arms of chair.
Sonnet (ABAB CDCD EFEF GG)
Want You To Stay
The first place we met, the swimming pool
I love you so much, please don’t go
Although you treat me as a fool
Everything you ask me, I do
It’s is not the right time to say goodbye
coz we will be missing each other
anyone of us leave, another gotta cry
This relationship should not be bothered
If you wanna leave, tell me why is that
remember there the flowers we did see
where on the bench beside me you sat
saying that you were in love with me
If you really don’t want me to stay
I’ll try to leave you alone one day

Please Be Quick and Don’t Be Late
Please be quick and don’t be late!
Either run or take the bus.
GO GO GO and do not wait!
The one running is called Kate.
Wait for someone but not us.
Please be quick and don’t be late!
Bread in hand and still not ate.
Obviously in a rush.
GO GO GO and do not wait!
Time runs out, it stimulates.
Out from the pore, the sweats gush.
Please be quick and don’t be late!
She gotta see the boss she hates.
Through the crowd she tries to crush.
GO GO GO and do not wait!
Everyday’s the same, it’s fate!
Just like morning first to brush.
Please be quick and don’t be late!
GO GO GO and do not wait!

SHORT STORY WRITING
"Door Closed! Heart Closed"
Tick...tick...tick...
The speed of clicking of the mouse was too fast which could not be imagined. The room was very dark but there was a square shining. The light shined was blocked and was reflected by a piece of dull face with a pair of crescent moons. They seemed closed but were slightly opened. There were birds singing outside the room, and the sun began to rise. Hik, the 18 year old boy, sitting in front of the computer, stretched himself with a yawn, turning off the LCD monitor and back to his bed where lots of toy models beside. He smiled while he was sleeping. A girl, dressed in pink colour and looked charming with her beautiful long hair, was sitting beside him and giving him a kiss.
Suddenly, with a loud crash of the door hitting on the wall woke him up from his sweet dream. The door was opened and a strong voice with high pitch came up, ''Wake up! What time is it! The sun is gonna set! Go out and buy some fish balls for me!'' Hik thought, “Fish balls?” After a second, he smiled again and kept thinking of the beautiful girl with pink dress.
“HEY! WAKE UP!”His mother was so angry that his son was rolling on his bed. She picked up a long thin stick and began to hit him. Hik just ignored the pain. He seemed to be accustomed to it.
“OUCH!”He then cried out. He cringed at the corner of the room with his tears dropping from the tips of his eyes. “Go to school!”His father scolded him. “You’re only 12 years old, how come you run away from school!” Hik was pulled by his father but he utilized all his energy and power generated by his every muscle to resist his father’s pulling force. Hik covered his ears and shut his eyes tightly, and his face distorted! He was trying not to listen to what his father scolded him. Every day, for Hik, was the same like that.
Pulling open the metal gate, stepping on the street, the sun was right above Hik’s head. “It’s dark…” Hik whispered. Everything, to Hik, seemed boring and meaningless. He walked in a hurry with his eyes looking down. Suddenly he stopped, putting his hand into his pocket. He took the money out and started to count, “10…20…21” It was 21 dollars, just enough for 7 fish balls. He then strode towards the market. On the way to the market, he didn’t look at anything except the ground. His head couldn’t turn even 10 degree, and it seemed to be locked. Finally he reached the market and found the correct counter.
There was a woman sitting inside the counter. She was wearing a black, dirty apron, with a cigarette holding in her hand. In front of her, there were different kinds of fish balls in the baskets on the table. And the one who stood stupidly, looking at the fish balls, thinking which kind of them his mum needed. “The white one? Or…the orange one? Or…” The woman asked, “What do you want?” Not everyone in the market is polite and well educated. Hik closed his eyes and put his hand on his forehead, deeply thinking, “Which one…?” After a while, the women asked again, “Which fish ball do you want?” She seemed to be a bit annoying and Hik seemed to have difficulties to choose which to buy. “GO AWAY! You ‘re not buying!” shouted the woman. Hik shook with a fear on his face and left the counter frightenedly. He was afraid to go back to the counter, but he must go back because it was the only one which sold fish balls in the market. He wandered around the market and was thinking what he should do. Suddenly he crashed somebody. He was pushed and fell on the ground. “OUCH!” he felt painful with his back and shouted. He wondered who pushed him down and looked up. There were 5 boys wearing black shirts and jeans. They looked angry and took Hik to the lane and pushed him on the wall. “You are bold, boy.” Said one of those men, who had a large and deep scar on his face. “Hit him!” with a fatal kick, he kinked and was rolling on the ground. They extorted the 21 dollars from Hik and ran away. “My fish balls…” groaned Hik.
Hik was standing in front of the door of his house. He knew that what would happen if there was nothing in his hands when back to home. He pressed the bell ring, and the door was opened. His mum stood right in front of him and looked at Hik’s hands, and her face turned red at once. At this moment, Hik was ready for it. Expectedly, his mum scolded Hik with her extremely loud voice, which could pass through the concrete wall to the other flats. She began to hit Hik, but Hik immediately ran into his room and had his door locked. Hik took a deep breath, and relaxed. Ignoring the noise, which emitted from his mum, he laid down on his bed again.
“Open your mouth, honey!” and Hik did so. Hik gave a satisfied smile which came from the deepest of his heart. You could see his facial expression feeling so comfortable which you want to punch him right at his nose. It was Lancy whom Hik fell in love with. He swore to himself that he would not find another girl friend. But, two years ago, Lancy left him and this totally broke Hik’s heart.
Dreaming is a good way to relax, but of course, it should be a good dream. Again, Hik dreamt of the pink dressed girl, Lancy. She was holding something, smiling at Hik. She gave them to Hik, and he wondered what those things were. “These must be a great present!” Hik thought with a grin. He opened the package, “THANKS!” he cried out and woke. Surely, it was a great dream, as a Hik was awaken with a glad face.
Fish balls, it were fish balls which woke Hik up. Everything he dreamt is what he experienced badly in the real world, where it was totally reversed in the dream. Was it the reason which gave him such a strange personality? ...The personality of timidity, sense of inferiority?
Hik turned on his computer again, and was absorbed into the internet. He was playing a game called IMVU. This was a 3D game, which after opening a new account, a 3D boy or girl would appear and act like a real resident living in the real world. And they would replace the user in the game which is inside the internet world. Hik was addicted to this game. He seemed to isolate himself beside the real world.
Day after day, the time passed away. Hik had been sitting in front of the computer for a very long time. He merely went outside to have a walk or chat with others. Day and night, this cycle kept going without even a stop.
Hik was shaking his head with a headphone on his head. He was enjoying a rock song, and he turned too large in volume that others could hear the song from the headphone one meter away.
He could not hear his mother’s scolding.
‘RINGGGGGG…” the alarm broke the quiet environment suddenly. Outside the building came 3 to 4 fire trucks. The big fire in the building which Hik was living was so serious. The fire alarm was on and everyone inside the building was escaping in horror. It was extremely noisy that the noise of the screaming and the fire alarm’s ringing mixed together giving the effect of resonance of sound.
However, there was someone who sat in front of the computer still shaking his head and enjoying the rock song. Suddenly, he was shocked by the door which was broken by three men wearing heavy uniform. Obviously, they were firemen! But the three words still squeezed out from Hik’s mouth because of this sudden situation, “Who…are…you…?” The firemen took him away with other residents in the building. But the fire spread too fast and it was too hot too! They hurried into the corridor but they could see nothing but smoke! Hik couldn’t breathe and he ran too slowly. The only way escaping from the fire out of the building was to corporate with the firemen.
The smoke was increasing, and it blurred the sight of Hik, the three firemen and a 24 year old young man, who was the trapped resident. The situation was getting worse. The firemen told Hik and the young man what to do, but Hik seemed no reaction. He just couldn’t say anything. He stood still and seemed not understand the words from the firemen. The young man pulled him away and started to escape from the fire. After 2 seconds, there was an explosion behind. Someone screamed behind Hik and the young man, but the young man didn’t care about the screaming and just pulled Hik and ran. Hik acted like a children, as the young man took his hand running like a father running with his son. They were on 5th floor! Finally they reached the staircase and rushed down! 4th floor…3rd floor…2nd floor…Hik had a strange feeling that he thought he had seen that young man. “Is he…” Hik thought. “No…it shouldn’t be possible…”
'Light! Overthere!' shouted the man. After this shout, Hik had no doubt about his question. The tone was almost the same.
Two meters only! 'OH!' there were hundreds of people watching and they shouted when two bodies rushed out from the smoke.
Hik looked at the man and thanked him, ''Thank you very much!'' ''It's ok, old man!'' replied the man.
Ignoring all other people, Hik looked at the mirror-like window of a police car which was right beside him. After a while, he looked at his hands...
Tick...tick...tick...

Plot:
The message of this story is to reflect the thoughts of some of the teenagers in HK nowadays. They waste time, stop any direct communication with the world outside. They are called Hikikomori, which is a Japanese term refering to the phenomenon of reclusive individuals who have chosen to withdraw from social life, and seek extreme degrees of isolation and confinement because of various personal and social factors in their lives. This may be due to the feeling of pessimism about this world. They lose confidence about themselves, so they choose to stay in their own world, and not to communicate with others. Finally they don't know time passes so fast.

Sonnets:
"Want You To Stay"
Baby baby I love you
I just don’t wanna let you go
The sky above us is now blue
Everything you ask me, I do
I don’t think it’s time to say goodbye
coz you’re gonna miss me much
anyone of us leave, another gotta cry
if I leave you now, my clothes you could never clutch
Baby baby why is that
remember there the flowers we did see
where on the bench beside me you sat
saying that you were in love with me
Only when you want me to go away
will I leave you alone one day
The message of this story is to reflect the thoughts of some of the teenagers in HK nowadays.
